A lone tree looks out over the water.

This is a digital painting I created from a simple pen and ink sketch.

High quality prints are available from my web site. So too are luxury prints that I hand finish with egg-tempera to create a lovely silky, textured finish, so that the brushstrokes really catch the light.

Egg Tempera:

Tempera paintings are very long lasting, and examples from the first centuries AD still exist.

Tempera painting was the primary panel painting medium for nearly every painter in the European Medieval and Early renaissance period up to 1500. For example, every surviving panel painting by Michelangelo is egg tempera.

I’m a fulltime artist, living on the Isle of Man.

As you will see from my portfolio, most of my works are digital paintings. Digital painting is similar to traditional painting except instead of using pigment, the artist paints with light. Painting with light is fantastic. As with any exciting new tool, it offers up whole universes of discovery for the artist to explore.
